Just to be clear, I don’t have time for this. But just to be clear, I can’t not do it. I’m starting a separate blog leading up to the 2010 World Cup in South Africa where I will post research on every nation, every group, and damn near every match of the tournament. I know what 90% of you are thinking: “I wonder who is getting kicked off American Idol this week,” because you stopped reading after the words “2010 World C-“. But truly this sister blog is not for you; it’s really for me. Honestly I really am doing this for myself because for me the World Cup is the greatest sporting event the universe has ever created and I have been anxiously awaiting it for the past 4 years and now that it’s almost here I can barely contain myself. I do acknowledge that there are at least a few people out there who are just as excited about the World Cup as I am and hopefully they can find some benefit in this little foray because if there’s anything better than the World Cup it’s knowing all there is to know about the World Cup and sharing in that experience with others. And maybe, just maybe, some of you who otherwise wouldn’t care about the greatest sporting event the universe has ever created might just take a peek at the new blog and in turn, might just get at least a little bit excited about the tournament. I can assure you, any interest you take in the World Cup will absolutely enrich your life. Absolutely.
And in no way do I want the World Cup blog to take away from this blog (except for this post, of course) so I’ll be stealing time from some other aspect of my life (likely work) in order to do the research and writing necessary for the WC blog.
